Caymus Conundrum

Posted by flip217 on 2/11/2005 4:16:20 PM

I've enjoyed this white wine blend for a few years now after having it recommended by a friend. But I've heard rumors that Caymus is no longer really involved in making this wine; rather, they've outsourced production and simply slap their label on the bottles. I've noticed a slight decline in quality, but attributed that to a lesser vintage. Anyone out there have info regarding this?

Don't know what Caymus is up to with this wine, but I always look for something new with value. Did you check out the Old Vines Chenin Blanc from Ballentine Vineyards. Awesome! Pear and Melon in the nose and rich and lingering in the mouth and only $14. Hard to find, I know. I got it from their website.

Check out their web site for details on how the winery changed. They have the same wine maker for the 03 vintage and same family ownership. www.conundrumwines.com
