5 of 5 stars - A gentle Merlot, which I was not expecting from this Lodi producer, given the heat that is seen in this part of California, the nose was a bit muted at first, but opened ever so slightly after letting the wine breathe. An inky purple in the glass with a heavy nose of American oak, cedar, and plum led way to a closed, but supple bing cherry, red rose Merlot. The finish was relatively short, but the tannins were just right.
