This was consumed next to the Alain Hudelot-Noellat Chambolle-Musigny 2002, and provided quite a contrast in styles. Red/purple hues, a relatively dense colour. A generous nose: red cherries, fruits of the forest, a strong meatiness, but also some minerality, reminiscent of river slate and tin, almost copper.
